ABOUT
Argentine soprano Julieta Kunik is a postgraduate student in Vocal Performance at the Royal College of Music, where she studies under the guidance of Patricia Rozario and Bryan Evans. Her studies are generously supported by The Jewish Student Aid Trust, The Kathleen Trust, and the Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust.
Throughout her time at the Royal College of Music, Julieta has performed a variety of roles, including Karolina in Smetana’s The Two Widows, Virtù in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea and Aristea in Pergolesi’s L’Olimpiade. She has also been featured in the International Women’s Day Concert, the Conductors’ Podium Concert, and participated in a masterclass with renowned pianist Paulina Tukiainen.
Julieta completed her undergraduate degree in Opera Studies at the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires before moving to the UK. She made her operatic debut in 2019 as the Little Shepherd in Tosca, marking the beginning of her professional stage career. After her undergraduate studies, she further honed her craft at Morley Opera School, where she was awarded a scholarship for her final term.
In addition to her operatic work, Julieta has a strong connection to Jewish liturgical music and has sung professionally in prestigious synagogues in Argentina and the UK. She currently serves as the Cantorial Singer at Westminster Synagogue, where she leads Shabbat services. Previously, she made history as the first female to lead at a Shabbat service at Belsize Square Synagogue.
