MEET JULIETA
Argentine soprano Julieta Kunik, of Italian, Polish origins, recently completed her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance at the Royal College of Music, where she studied with Patricia Rozario and Bryan Evans. Her studies were generously supported by The Jewish Student Aid Trust, The Kathleen Trust, and the Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust. She previously earned her undergraduate degree in Opera Studies at Universidad Nacional de las Artes in Buenos Aires and furthered her training at Morley Opera School, where she was awarded a scholarship for her final term.
Julieta’s operatic repertoire includes Karolina in Smetana’s The Two Widows, Virtù in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, Aristea in Pergolesi’s L’Olimpiade, and Carolina in Cimarosa’s Il matrimonio segreto. While at the RCM, she appeared in the International Women’s Day Concert and the Conductors’ Podium Concert and took part in a masterclass with pianist Paulina Tukiainen.
Julieta’s multicultural background deeply shapes her artistic identity. Coming from a family of Polish and Ukrainian Jewish immigrants who escaped the Second World War and rebuilt their lives in Argentina, she carries a profound connection to themes of resilience, migration, and cultural heritage. These roots inspire her passion for championing underrepresented composers, particularly from Latin America.
